Why blog?

by Whitty @ 2007-03-28 - 22:34:34

I haven't blogged for a while. Why? Because I don't feel I've anything to give. Who cares what I've done today, where I've been this week, what I think about the current news agenda?

What do you want to know? What do you want to read about? I like the escape. I like the idea that you don't really know me, that I can say what I want and not worry. But I have nothing interesting to say, and hence the bogosphere (?) becomes crowded with lots of insignificant crap.

I've had a hard time of late. Changes in medication, problems with controling muyself, work stress, late nights, unrewarded weekend work, friends with issues I've tried so hard to support on. But here I don't want sympathy or support, I want intelligent debate, creative input, views that challenge my beliefs. But then, if I feel I've nothing to give - how can I get anything back?

I say it again - why blog?

We blog because there's nothing on telly. Lol.

No really, I think people like to read about other people, because it then takes the pressure off from their own lives. Sometimes it helps to read about somebody elses life, rather than dwelling.

I think you should write to pleas yourself, as a sort of release, rather than to humour an audience. If people like what you write, thats great. If not, then they just don't get you, it's not your problem. I'm new on this, so thats my reason for not reading your blog :) .

If its debate that you are after, then I'm ya girl! Otherwise, I guess you could go to Yahoo! Answers. Thats really good.

This is interesting because - you're spont on with writing for myself and a release. Trouble is I feel obliged to comment on other's posts - especially is it looks like they need support. I have terrible trouble with taking on owther people's issues so I must teach myself that it's okay not to comment...

i dont blog so other people will read it, i dont really think thats the idea.
If you want to be noticed, go into a shopping centre with a machine gun and kill loads of people.

I just write whats on my mind.
Its my little bit of cyberspace.
Sorry for the extreme view.

All the best
Brendan :)

I have to assume that every thing I write has the potential to be read by anyone (maybe a fall out of the fact I work in communications).

I'm interested - If you don't think the idea of blogging is for other people to read your posts, then why not keep a diary?

Off to shoot some people.... :)

I blog because I have terrible verbal diorhea (no idea how to spell that) and nobody to talk to!!!!And in blogland there are lots of lovely people to talk to and so on.....:D The trick is not to judge I think......just be

I wish I could just 'be', there is far too much judging going on. Reputation is very important to me and I can't help but consider how I'm judged when I write. Must....try....harder....to...blog....for....me.
